TOTAL ENERGIES AND NNPC ARE NOT PART OF THE NEWLY SIGNED IMA GAS FIELD, OML 112 & 117 BY PRESIDENT TINUBU IMA GAS PROJECT — 23 SEPTEMBER 2026

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on 23 September 2026 welcomed the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the $800 million Ima Gas Project, describing it as an important milestone in unlocking Nigeria’s long-standing gas resources. The Ima gas field is located offshore in Rivers State and covers resources associated with OML 112 and OML 117, discovered in 1973 and left undeveloped for decades.

The project is being developed by AMNI International, a Nigerian independent oil and gas company, with the objective of producing substantial gas volumes for domestic and industrial use, including potential feedgas supply for Nigeria LNG’s Train 7 expansion. The development is expected to generate employment, strengthen Nigerian participation in the energy value chain and support economic activity in Rivers State and beyond.

This report focuses specifically on AMNI’s Ima Gas Project and its development milestone announced on 23 September 2026.
